• The best time to do the photo shoot is between your 34th and 38th week of pregnancy.

  •  Be sure that the selected time is when you will be relaxed and rested.

  •  Eat a good meal before the photo shoot.

  •  Have your change of clothes ironed and ready to go.  Clothing selections will be discussed
    prior to the photo shoot.

  •  Prior to the shoot, be careful not to wear any elastic over any area of your body that will be
photographed.  e.g. waist-bands, bra straps, sock marks, etc.   Be sure to remove all tight
clothing a few hours prior to your photo shoot to avoid unsightly indentations and red marks
(bras, tight undies and anything that goes across the belly).  Many moms arrive in sweat pants,
tank tops, no bras and flip flops.  SO comfy.

  •  Make sure that you have the appropriate make-up and hair products required for the photo
shoot.  A subtle, natural look is recommended.  I recommend a basic look using only foundation,
powder and mascara.  Eye-liner, eye-shadow, blush and lip-colour is also fine but make sure it is
not too dark.  No shimmer/sparkle make-up or cream.

  •  Remember that your hands will be a focal point of some of the photos, so make sure that your
nails and jewelery are to your satisfaction.  (Dad's hands will be in the photos too)

  • If Dad is to be joining the photo shoot (and he is encouraged to do so), white/black pants and
shirts along with jeans are great for both of you.  Dad is often shirtless in many of the images to
match the bare skin of mom.

  •  Don't schedule too many appointments on the day of the shoot so you can relax and enjoy the
    experience!

  •  If you have specific ideas that might involve props please let me know ahead of time so we can
both be prepared at the time of the shoot.

  •  If you would like your spouse, children or pets in the photos, make sure that they are also
prepared with regards to open schedules, meals, clothing preparation, grooming, etc.

Please bring
  • A robe for between poses when there is less clothing
  • White and black spandex pants, tube tops, tankinis or sports bra
  • White, black and nude panties to use with various wraps
  • Lacy or plain “boy short” type panties
  • A pair of jeans – no pregnancy panel (no need to worry about zipping them up as we are
    concentrating on the belly)

Newborn
  •  One of the  best times to photograph your baby in within the first 2 weeks when babies are still
very sleepy which helps during the photography session.  For those snuggled up and sound
asleep shots, the first seven days is best because they are very small and still curl up very
easily which makes for some wonderful photos

  •  Newborn photo shoots are "clothing optional":-)  Newborns photograph best in bare skin when
the wrinkles and folds of the skin can be seen.  You may bring some blankets, hats or other
items from home to personalize your portraits if you wish.

  • Mom & dad should bring long sleeve black shirts and mom should bring a solid color tank top.

  • Please feed your little one prior to making your way to your photo shoot.  A happy tummy will
result in baby falling into a deep sleep on the ride over.

  • For the ride over, leave the baby in a loose diaper and swaddled in a smooth blanket.  This way
there is less disturbance when we begin the shoot and we can avoid red marks and
indentations on the skin from diapers and tight clothing.  It is also a good idea to clean the baby’
s eyes with a warm wash cloth and to check baby’s nostrils for anything unsightly that you don’t
want photographed.  Please do this before leaving home… we don’t want to upset the baby
upon arriving for the photo shoot.  All this allows us to transition to the backdrops without much
disturbance (no pulling shirts over heads, etc.)  Please DO NOT wake your baby upon arriving

  • Newborns often have many “accidents” and I assure you that this is OK.  Everything washes
nicely.  Be sure to bring a change of clothing with you just in case the accident happens ON YOU

  • Please bring a plain white and  a plain black shirt as often times we will use mom/dad as a part of
our backdrop.  This will also allow us to capture some very emotional moments of bonding
between mom, dad & baby.  I do understand that some new parents do not want to be
photographed, however I encourage you to capture that bond between you & your new
addition.  We can work with various angles and lighting to hide any “baby belly”, etc.

  • Please refrain from bringing additional “helpers” to your photo shoot.  All we need is mom, dad
and baby.  Older siblings are welcome, however, we focus mainly on your new addition.

Please bring
  • Black/white shirts for mom & dad
  • Diapers, wipes and burp clothes
  • Additional bottles, formula & pacifier (if used)
  • Change of clothes for baby to go home in
  • Change of clothes for mom & dad
