Gene is a native of Effingham County, Georgia.  He returned here to live
after serving in the United States Marine Corps, including service in
Operation Desert Storm.

Gene is certified by the University of Georgia as a Coastal Georgia
Naturalist.  His area of specialty is herpetology.
